Introduction

FIL-RetroPGF-1 is the first round of retroactive public goods funding. The first round will award 200,000 FIL to recognize impact achieved by contributors to the Filecoin network.

Timeline of Events

FIL-RetroPGF-1 will progress in the following stages:

  1. Project Nomination (Mar 15, 2024 - Mar 31, 2024) - any member of the Filecoin community can nominate projects. Anybody can nominate any project they feel meets the criteria of RetroPGF in each of the categories specified here.
  2. Nomination Review (Apr 1, 2024 - Apr 8, 2024) - nominations are reviewed by the FIL-RetroPGF-1 organizing committee to ensure that they meet the necessary criteria. See here for more details on the nomination review process. The organizing committee will then invite projects who have cleared the review process to submit project intake.
  3. Project Intake (Apr 8, 2024 - Apr 24, 2024) - invited projects will submit a project intake form which will help badgeholders assess the impact the project has provided to the Filecoin community within the impact window (Oct 2023 - Mar 2024).
  4. Badgeholder Evaluation & Voting (Apr 24, 2024 - May 9, 2024) - badgeholders will provide assessments of project impact to the Filecoin ecosystem and allocate funding to each project.
  5. Vote Aggregation & Funding (TBD) - the organizing committee will collate votes from the badgeholders and allocate funding to each project based on the badgeholder’s decisions.
  6. Funds Distribution (TBD) - funds will then be disbursed to projects.
